In Happier News

Michigan nabbed a new commit over the weekend.

The Wolverine is reporting that Alhambra, California, wide receiver Zion Babb committed to Michigan this weekend. Babb lists at 6'0", 177lbs, and runs a 4.67 40. Currently listed as a 3* by Rivals, Babb has a PAC-10 heavy recruiting list: Arizona, California, Colorado, Nebraska, Oregon, UNLV, Washington, and of course Michigan.

Scout was a little more generous with Babb, listing him as a 4*, 6'2" and 180 Lbs. The report at Scout is Babb is quick and very strong. Very capable of getting out of his jams and running sharp routes. Apparently needs to work on the easy catches, a la Steve Breaston.

Awesome fact which is totally unrelated to future performance: son of former USC track star Lance Babb. Babb the younger is currently ranked by Scout as the #3 WR in California. Irritating side note from the article, "Like the tight ends, there is no one star here."

You can never have enough wideouts capable of man-handling a corner. Unless of course you intend to turn him into a DB, a thought English has apparently made known. Whether Babb is the jammer or the jammee, good pick up by the coaching staff.

I'm from AHS. I've seen him play and you won't have to worry about his football game, he gets lackadaisical in his academics.
